Publish Rankvia content to Shopify
Once your Shopify store is associated with Rankvia, Shopify can be the publishing destination for supported generated content. You can review content before sending it to Shopify or enable automatic publishing for eligible scheduled content.
You do not need to copy and paste finished content between Rankvia and Shopify.
How Shopify publishing works
- Content Calendar
- Page Plan
- Generated content
- Review or automate
Shopify
- Draft or live
No separate Shopify publishing connection is normally required
When you start with Rankvia through the Shopify app, the Shopify store associated with that Rankvia website is available as a publishing destination. Before publishing, make sure you are working with the intended store.
Before you publish
- You are working with the intended Shopify store
- The content is ready for review
- The intended Shopify blog is selected for an article
- The intended draft or live state is selected
- A featured image is ready when the article uses one
- Automatic publishing is enabled only when you intend to use it
Choose where the article should be published
A Shopify store can contain more than one blog. Articles use the Shopify blog selected for that publication. For automatic publishing, choose a default Shopify blog before enabling the workflow. Shopify pages do not use a blog.

REVIEW-FIRST
Review content before sending it to Shopify
In the review-first workflow, Rankvia generates the content and keeps it available for review before anything is sent to Shopify. Check the content, title, featured image when present, destination blog, and selected publication state before you publish.
Generated → Review → Shopify
After publishing, Rankvia records the resulting Shopify publication state.
AUTOMATIC PUBLISHING
Let eligible scheduled content publish automatically
When automatic publishing is enabled and Shopify is the selected automatic destination, eligible scheduled content can continue through generation and Shopify publishing without a separate manual action each time.
Scheduled → Generate → Shopify
Automatic publishing only runs after you enable it for the store. A valid Shopify destination, selected default blog for articles, and required publishing assets are needed before it can continue.
Review first vs automatic
| Workflow | Review first | Automatic publishing |
|---|---|---|
| Rankvia generates content | Yes | Yes |
| Manual review before Shopify | Yes | Not required for eligible content |
| Manual publish action | Yes | No |
| Uses the Shopify destination | Yes | Yes |
| Explicitly enabled | No | Yes |
Publish as a Shopify draft or make content live
Shopify draft
Rankvia creates the article or page in Shopify without making it publicly visible yet.
Published
Rankvia sends content live to the selected Shopify blog or page destination.
What Rankvia sends to Shopify
Rankvia sends the supported content and publishing details for the selected Shopify destination.
Content
- Title
- Article or page body
- Article featured image and alt text, when present
- SEO title and meta description
Publishing details
- Selected Shopify blog for articles
- URL handle / slug
- Draft or live state
- Article author set by the Rankvia publishing flow
Publishing with a featured image
When generated content includes a featured image, Rankvia includes the image in the Shopify article publishing workflow. Not every article requires an image, and Shopify pages do not use an article featured image.
If a required image is still being prepared, automatic publishing waits for the asset instead of asking you to regenerate the content.
AFTER PUBLISHING
Shopify stays connected to the Rankvia content record
After a successful Shopify action, Rankvia records the Shopify publication state, destination, and the resulting content location when it is available. The related content view can show that it was sent to Shopify as a draft or published live.
Ready → Sent to Shopify → Draft or live
Publishing updates the content workflow in Rankvia
After Rankvia successfully sends content to Shopify, the related content item reflects its Shopify publishing state. Content not yet sent, content sent as a draft, and content made publicly live remain distinct outcomes.
Publishing the same content again
Rankvia keeps the Shopify publication association for content it has already sent. Publishing the same content again updates the same Shopify article or page instead of creating a duplicate, provided the content type has not changed. If Shopify content was changed outside Rankvia, review the conflict shown by Rankvia before choosing an update.
Scheduled content and automatic publishing
Scheduling content and enabling automatic publishing are separate controls. Scheduled content without automatic publishing waits for the required review and manual publishing action. When automatic publishing is enabled, eligible scheduled content can continue after generation and required assets are ready.
Expected result
- The content exists in the intended Shopify destination
- The selected draft or live state was respected
- Supported content and media were transferred
- Rankvia records that the Shopify action succeeded
- The related Rankvia content state reflects the publication
- A live URL is available when content is publicly published
